SCREAM

Image
**!!Awesome new show alert!!** It's called Scream, have you heard of it? I thought you might have. Yes, I'm talking Scream as in the slasher flick from the 90's. The creeper in the mask is back like you've never seen them before! MTV has teamed up with Wes Craven to breathe new life into this throwback story and I am loving it! fanforum.com The story line is familiar enough, strange family secrets unraveling, a nasty killer seeking revenge and a group of teens getting picked off one by one. It's a classic who's behind the mask filled with just the right amount of gore and suspense to keep you coming back. Seeing as the first season of the show spans over 10 episodes vs the typical hour and a half you get in the theaters the audience is able to become attached to the characters making it all the more gut wrenching when they come to a brutal end. This show does a fantastic job mixing together suspense, drama and humor, the perfect combo for a bloodbath ...

How to Travel on a Budget

Image
Yes you can!!      Recently I read an article stating that travel is "dependent on privilege" followed by statements such as, "I don't travel because I'm poor." I understand the struggle of brokeness as much as the next person. I'm a college student paying too much for an overpriced apartment and I work less than 40 hours a week at minimum wadge. Yet I find ways to take a trip here and there. Contradictory to what the article read, I'm not getting money from my parents and I'm not swimming in credit card debt up to my neck. So what's my trick? Lots of planning and the willingness to sacrifice my more frivolous wants. Admittedly yes, the  post rubbed me the wrong way. I work hard to pinch pennies in order to have the experiences that I do. On the other hand, the article did make me think, perhaps if I share some of my travel  strategies  I can help people with this negative  outlook  plan a trip of their own!  Ladies and  Gentleme...

Tatt-ursday

Image
Get Inked, yo! That gross title was my spin on Tattuesday or whatever it is they call it on "Ink Master". My skin is no stranger to ink and needles. I have a grand total of 3 tattoos, one on my foot, one on my rib/side area as well as what has become a half sleeve on my right arm. That being said I have some incredible thoughts (Lonely Island shout out)  and advice to share with those of you out there looking to get tatted up! neonsignsus.com 1) Not all artists are created equal      I made this mistake several times while choosing an artist for my tattoos. Luckily the first two tattoos I got are relatively small and simple, the one on my foot could be better but hey, it's covered by a sock 75% of the year here in good ole' Wisco. However, upon looking for a shop to get my "sleeve" started I was simply foolish. I had never had any big work done and in my naive mind I figured any artist would be good enough. **They must all be talented and awes...

Greetings to you! This is a public service announcement from yours truly....  If you come across a wounded wild animal that is out of your reach or if you don't feel comfortable helping please contact someone who can.  The number for the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Milwaukee is  (414) 264-6257  I'm aware that many of you are not from the Milwaukee area, in that case a quick search on the Google machine should provide you with some helpful results :) commons.wikimedia.org Wild creatures are our friends and if we have the ability to help one who is in need we should!  Thanks for reading, have a great day!

Longggggggggggboarding

Image
Things I have learned about longboarding I am a n00b but, I think I'm picking up on things pretty quickly! I've only been longboarding for about a week and a half now and I'm feeling like a run of the mill semi-pro! So far I've declared that longboarding is easier to pick up on than snowboarding however, at least when I'm snowboarding I know how to stop! I am not brave, hills are the enemy! As mentioned above, I don't know how to stop. Hills are big, hills are scary, me on longboard=fast. Longboarding will supply you with beefcake thighs!  My sought after Sayian thighs are well on their way! At least one of them that is.... pushing off over and over again with my right leg is working muscles I didn't even know I had! People like to scream and go "LoOoOoOongboarderrrr" at you. I don't know why but, people have deemed this necessary. Some creepos in cars will slow down and stare at you for no apparent reason as well, it...

Majin Boob

Image
DBZ Fans We need to talk.  What on God's green earth is up with Majin Buu!?!? Who the heck does this thing think he is. I'm assuming it's a "he" although, I don't know what the crap this pink blob is supposed to be. I'm watching this saga and I am ANGRY! This shizz is stressing me out, watching the Z fighters go up against this troll is legitimately raising my blood pressure.  Majin Buu IRL I've been informed that Buu is close to undergoing a "transformation" where he will become slightly more tolerable. I find this extremely hard to believe since at this point in time this wad of bubble gum has proven to be comparable to a fat toddler throwing a constant temper tantrum. There's been Frieza, the Androids, Cell and now we are presented with this turd, "WHYYYY!!!!!" *I dramatically cry to heavens shaking my fists*  My rage flows so strongly that I refuse to put a picture of this menacing beast in my post. ...

Bye, Bye Dexter.

Image
I'm trapped in a glass case of emotion. Last night I finally got around to watching the series finale of Dexter. I felt all of the feels, tears were shed. There has only been one other television event worthy of making sadness leak from my eyes. That moment ladies and gentlemen, was the episode of How I Met Your Mother where Marshall's dad dies, *Sniff* RIP Martin. Seriously though, as television consumers we invest so much of our time into some of these shows that we can get attached to the characters, it's almost as if I could taste all those delicious doughnuts Dexter brought to the station seemingly every morning.  I know I'm very much the minority with this but I really didn't mind the finale. Now before you start making a mental list of all of the admittedly valid reasons the ending crashed and burned let me tell you a little something, something about why I for the most part loved it! I'll even throw in some bonus commentary about things I hat...

A Night Out on Broadway

Image
It's always beer-thirty in Nashville!  Oh Broadway St, home to drunken bachelorette parties, unknown local singers looking to be discovered and intoxicated good times! It's a no-brainer that whilst on our adventure in TN we had to hit up Nashville's magical downtown hangout. We were in town over a holiday weekend so perhaps that explains Broadway was looking more like the Vegas strip than Honky Tonk Row. People roamed the streets as far as the eye could see, the more the merrier! Broadway really is a place unlike any other, triple-decker bars, country music blaring from every angle complete with flashing neon lights beckoning you their way. My evening consisted of loads ear satisfying live music, beer-a-plenty and queuing-up for long lines in a drunken desperate hope to use the loo. Unfortunately, we didn't experience some of the more legendary bars on the strip such as Tootsies because everywhere was so man-packed. Luckily, we're easy to please and were equ...

Mammoth Cave

Image
Legendary!  (That was to be read in the League of Legends announcer voice) That's one way of describing Kentucky's natural wonder Mammoth Cave. Boasting as the world's largest known cave system this place is too large to explore all in one day. I was lucky enough to see just a portion of this behemoth cavern and it was something else! We checked out the Domes and Dripstones tour, a two hour guided walk throughout a small portion of the cave complete with a bonus stop at the cave's Frozen Niagara portion. Our tour began with a deep descent, we traveled down over 13 flights of stairs over 300 ft underground, the sights along the way were magnificent. A word to the wise, if you're afraid of heights don't look over the edge as you travel ever downward into the pits of Mammoth Cave, the drop off is startling. After recovering from the initial shock and wonder of entering a place that seems almost unworldly we were guided through the cave by our super fr...
