An Afternoon in Chicago
Bean City B**ch, Bean, Bean City B**ch(to be sung to the tune of "Rack City" by Tyga).
That's right folks, today we're talking about the one and only Chicago! A quick jaunt away from my current residence, Milwaukee, Chicago makes for the perfect day trip. With so many interesting sights and activities time flies in the Windy City.
1) See the Bean.
Because, nothing says Chicago like a big a** bean. Giant, random and oh-so-shiny, the bean is a perfect addition for your Insta.
Bonus: If you've been paying attention to the event section on Facebook lately, you may have noticed an abundance of bizarre bean related events. Some of my favorite events include: Dress up as Guy Fieri and take the Bean to Flavor Town, Summon the Chicago Mothman so I can become it's bride and Catepolt the Bean over the Sears Tower.
2) Visit the Christkindlmarket.
A taste of Germany brought to the Midwest. Eat a brat and sip on some gluhwein, it's Christmas time in the city!
The Christkindlmarket is a great place to experience a bit of German culture. From glass ornaments to trinkets galore, there's something for everyone. If you don't care to shop, the food is sure to satisfy.
3) Museum Overload.
Chicago has so many cool museums. You can easily spend hours exploring the Field Museum of natural history. Meteorites, dinos and mummies, oh-my! Or, If you're a science nerd, check out the Museum of Science and Natural history.

The two museums mentioned above are just a tiny sliver of all the geeky-goodness Chicago has to offer. There's bunches and bunches of knowledge floating around in the city waiting for you to swoop in and absorb all those wonderous factoids.
4) Find the Chicago Mothman.
Yes, you read that right, the Chicago Mothman. A total of 47 flying-humanoid sightings were reported to Lon Strickler, writer for the Singular Fortean, in 2017 alone. You can read about the sightings here, http://www.singularfortean.com/news/2017/6/10/a-timeline-of-the-chicago-flying-humanoid-sightings-so-far
Put on your cryptid-chasing shoes and follow this interactive map for the chance to have a sighting of your own!
5) See Sharks and Other Cuties at the Shedd Aquarium.
Visit the Arctic and the Amazon in a matter of hours. The Shedd has a wide variety of exhibits and live entertainment too! Touch a stingray, waddle like a penguin, slither like an eel, you get the idea...
6) Take a Boat Tour.
It may be the dead of winter, but we can dream of the warm summer days that await us! Departing from Navy Pier, the Chicago Architecture river cruise is always a good time. The tour combines the perfect mix of history and sight-seeing, all from the comfort of one of the city's finest cruising vessels.
While you're at it, check out Navy Pier for food, fun and a big a$$ ferris wheel.
7) Visit the Lincoln Park Zoo
This zoo is quite literally a walk in the park. Located smack-dab in the city, the Lincoln Park Zoo spans a total of 35-acres. A place where urban-life and wildlife collide, this is truly a unique experience.
'Mothman Dynasty: Chicago's Winged Humanoids'
ReplyDeleteThe presence of strange winged beings is probably as old as the human imagination. In the late Summer of 2011, reports of Mothman-like flying humanoids began to surface in the city of Chicago. After three brief sightings, there were no further accounts. Then unexpectedly in early 2017, a smattering of encounters emerged from different locations throughout the Chicago metro area; until the number reached near fifty sightings before the end of the Summer. Why Chicago? Why now? This book will examine the witness accounts and the investigators thought processes, as these incidents were brought to our attention. The sightings continue… but we are determined to find the truth.
