Cruelty Free is the Way to be!

Image
I love animals of all shapes and sizes!  That being said there is something that has been taking a toll on my conscious for a while  now. Have you ever looked at your cosmetics or hair products and wondered what an animal had to go through so that we can live up to our beauty standards? Putting creatures without voices through such traumatizing situations seems a bit heartless. Perhaps this sounds a bit dramatic but hear me out. People have been manufacturing make-up and other products for such a long time now, we know what works and what doesn't so why should our furry friends have to suffer? https://www.emaze.com/@ACQFRORZ/Animal-Testing That being said, I have set out to begin replacing my beauty collection with 100% cruelty-free products. As I mentioned before, this is something that I've been contemplating for a while now. I know that I could have and should have made better purchases in the past but, new products come with their own set of questions. If you'

Who doesn't love a good meal? Especially when that meal is seafood! There is something about eating shrimp that makes me feel fancy, the zest of lemon, the scent of garlic, oh how I love it! Well my friends thanks to the handy app called Pinterest I discovered a shrimp scampi recipe that is so easy you don't have to be a culinary master to ace it. Happy Valentines Day Friends!  Ah V-Day, the single most despised holiday of people claiming it was made up by greeting card companies to make more money. This sounds like a conspiracy to me... Be that as it may, I know Valentines day isn't a favorite for everyone and that's A-OK! However, let it be know that if you're in a relationship or not there are people who love you and who are happy to know you. This isn't a day that has to be spent with a spouse to be enjoyed! Take a few moments to remind friends and family that you love them! This post was not inspired by Valentines day whatsoever, it just happens to be a strange coincidence I'm writing this on the national day of loooove. Hmmmmm, sounds like another conspiracy, something fishy is going on around here. http://www.drodd.com/html7/funny-valentine-cards.html Anyways, this weekend I had a thought. My husband and I had just gotten back from a veryyyy long day. We were up since 5 a.m. enduring the WI

Grow a Vertical Garden With These Easy Steps

Image
Decisions, decisions... If you find yourself wishing you could grow a garden but are lacking the space look no further! Have you ever heard of a vertical garden? Vertical gardens were inspired by nature, think vines growing up the sides of a building. This type of gardening allows one to utilize small spaces and create something beautiful by growing plants in a vertical fashion! How is this done you ask? Keep reading to find out! Before jumping into action you must first decide what style of vertical garden you want to grow. There are plenty of options to choose from such as the container style garden, a plastic or wooden wall garden or perhaps a pocket style garden. One creates a container style garden by either attaching potted plants to a wall or by stacking planters. If you are the proud owner of a pocket shoe-rack such as the one in the photo below or if you're feeling crafty a pocket style garden might be a wise choice. Plants can be easily  placed in these compact chambe

Wisconsin's Great River Trail

Who else is ready for long Summer nights and outdoor adventures? I have a good feeling that if you live anywhere near Wisconsin you're screaming "ME!" at your computer-screen right about now. If you've read my posts before you are probably well aware that one of my favorite past-times is camping throughout our lovely state of Wisconsin. As I was sitting here reminiscing on this dreary Winter day I remembered an exciting trip the Hubby and I took out to the Western side of the state to Wildcat Mountain State Park in Ontario, WI. With a name like Wildcat Mountain you might be wondering what you're getting yourself into... Luckily we did not meet our ends at the paws of a wild beast. However, we did see a frog or two here and there! Upon entering the park you begin to wonder if you will ever reach the check-in point. The campgrounds are located on top of a bluff and there's only one way to get there, up. PSA: I do not recommend this drive if heights make y
