Thoughts.

Sleepy Saturday.
I cannot seem to keep my eyes open today, my attempts to stay hydrated with high quality H2o as my fuel this lovely Saturday morning are proving to be unsuccessful.

None the less, happy weekend to you! I hope it's filled with fun times and adventure.
I am hitting up the grand state of Illinois this weekend, let's hear it for the FIBS. Just kidding... or am I. All joking aside in just a few moments I will be voyaging south and visiting some lovely places, first up on the agenda we have the Caterpillar Museum, where my boyfriend will boast the joys of mining and educate me on the lovely company that is CAT. Followed up with a trip to the IL State Fair to see Fall Out Boy!! The inner high school fangirl in me is geeking out hardcore at the moment. I was one of the emo kids in high school with posters of Pete Wentz adorning my walls complete with his glorious "guy liner" as the lovely term was coined. So that should be pretty awesome, I'll be sure to fill you in, in the next few days.

Alas the reason I came here today is indeed not to chat about my weekend plans but to talk about a few books. I have been a busy reader the past few weeks and breezed through a few popular titles, I would now like to share my opinions with you, if you'd be so kind as to listen.

Hollow City:
The second novel in the Miss Peregrine series blew me away. I absolutely loved it! This title is a fast read not only because it's written in an easy way to breeze through but because the story intensifies and is absolutely gripping. I finished the whole thing in less than a week, so you know it's good when you can't put it down. The book picked up right away from the action we left off with in the first novel, and then ended with a massive cliff hanger. Based on reviews I read online for this series I know a lot of people have their issues with the books, but personally I find them very enjoyable. I love the characters and find the plot to be very absorbing. I will definitely be in stores ASAP to buy the third novel when it drops in September.

Paper Towns:
I bought this book based off a recommendation on a friend's Facebook status, she and I have a lot of similar interests so I thought I'd give it a go. Seeing the trailer for the movie version of this novel I was intrigued. Not to be a hater but I have mixed feelings about this book. I understand it's a coming of age story, about young ideas and wanting someone you have built up to be this perfect being in your mind, which is totally ok with me but I really just found the story hard to get into. I enjoyed the characters and the style the book was written in, however the plot itself moved slowly and felt a bit anti-climatic to me, which I think in some parts is just how it was intended to be. Throughout  reading this book I developed a relationship with the main character "Q", I wanted him to succeed, wanted him to get what he wanted, and I felt his frustration, so it makes things difficult when they don't quite go how you wish they would. I will probably still see the movie version of Paper Towns due to pure curiosity, the book was entertaining in some ways but also a bit slow moving until the last third of it.

So there my friends are some thoughts, thanks for your undivided attention. On that note, I'm fresh out of new books to read, so if you have any recommendations let me know in the comments section below!

Have a lovely day!
Stay classy.
