Super Magic Time!
Hear ye, hear ya my lords and ladies
Every awesome person knows that a visit to the Ren Faire is a Summer "must"! If you haven't been fortunate enough to experience the magic of such an event or if you aren't quite convinced the faire is all it's cracked up to be allow me to present you with some reasons Renaissance Faires are the bomb-diggity.
Reason #1: Food
Where else can you devour a giant freaking turkey leg the size of your arm? Showcase the barbarian you truly are and chow down! I legitimately saw a woman wearing a shirt that said "I'm only here for the turkey legs", now that's what I call a testimonial. Turkey doesn't trip your trigger? Alright, how about some delicious soup complete with an edible bread bowl! Too hot for you? That's ok! Dive in to a delightful bbq sandwich or even some fresh pizza! Don't forget to wash it down with a hardy brew! While we're on the subject of food, DO NOT even get me started on the tantalizing dessert options... this past weekend I opted for an ice cream filled crepe smoothered in whipped creme and chocolate sauce, MMMMM brb, dying and going to heaven now.
Yes, you will probably end up spending wayyyyyy more money than you thought possible on tasty treats and eats. But hey, sometimes you have to treat yourself right? Oh and remember at these things calories don't count, you must eat as many delicious dishes as possible!
Reason #2: The Sights
Not to brag or anything but I met Shrek after spotting him in the crowd during a joust. Say what you will about ogres but I was rather pleased. Sure, Shrek doesn't quite fit the Renaissance period look but that's part of the fun! Loads of people dress up for these things ranging from knights, pirates, wizards to Shrek. You can be whoever you want to be and who doesn't love that?
Reason #3: Entertainment
Acrobats, fire, whips, comedy.... the list goes on! With shows around the clock it's hard to get bored!
Reson #4: The Shops
Has it been your wish to obtain a few magical objects? Look no further, the Ren Faire can and WILL supply you with all of the unique goodies your heart desires. I'm talking wizard staffs, goblets, weapons, tarot cards, costumes, you name it really. The shopping here most definitely will cost you an arm and a leg but you can head home knowing you purchased a one of a kind keepsake.
What are you waiting for! There's still plenty of Summer left to get out there and find your local Renaissance Faire! Make the voyage, you won't be disappointed!
