Why I Love Airbnb

Let's get one thing straight, Airbnb rules!

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few years I'm fairly certain you've heard of the company Airbnb. If not, let me give you a quick low-down. Airbnb is the travelers best friend, think bed and breakfast minus the doilies(so stereotypical I know). Honestly though, I love this service! They allow you to book a room, a floor or heck, even a full house! How it works is people act as hosts and allow you to rent out their living space for whatever amount of time you need. No, these people aren't creepers or anything like that. They're actually quite the opposite, an Airbnb host has their own profile with ratings and summaries about themselves so you can be sure to pick the right place for you. In my experience these people are often quite hospitable but also know how to give you your own space. Usually you bump into them here or there but they tend to be out and about most of the time leaving you to relax in peace. Anyways, if you are unfamiliar with this idea I urge you to check out the companies website to learn more, I'm sure they can explain things better than my rambling!

Now, on to the reasons I <3 Airbnb.

-First and foremost, they are affordable.
I have stayed at 3 different Airbnbs now and each time has been a unique experience. One of the things I love the most is the price. When booking your stay you're able to search by price range on the website. This allows you to find a cute little place with everything you need for less than the cost of staying at a hotel.

-Equally important, they are cute, charming and quirky.
What better way to experience a new place than by living like a local. Something I love about Airbnb that you just can't get at a hotel is the charm. The places you are able to choose from are usually super cute, well kept and welcoming. We have had hosts who type up little booklets of things to see and do which is always helpful. Each place has it's own style and decor which is nice compared to bland hotel rooms that are almost always decorated the same.

Bonus:sometimes the host will even make you a little goody basket with snacks and coffee can I get a Napoleon Dynamite style 'heck yes'.

-Don't forget about the amenities.
The amenities are a big selling point for me. When choosing where you want to stay you can check off little boxes of things you want such as kitchen, free parking, wi-fi...ect. This is a great thing to keep in mind if you're traveling on a budget! As I've mentioned in previous posts my husband and I always take advantage of the kitchen option and cook our own food to save some much needed moolah. Not to mention there are some seriously up-scale options such as hot tubs, cable TV and indoor fireplaces. Wow-za, isn't that fanciful!?

Lastly, it's all part of the adventure.
Exploring new places and having new experiences are beautiful things. In my humble opinion staying at an Airbnb only adds to that excitement. Sure, you don't necessarily know what you're getting into but isn't that part of the fun? Airbnbs are a good way to meet new people and have different experiences than you normally would when traveling. Say yes to adventure!

In conclusion Airbnb is pretty flippin' sweet. If you haven't had the chance to try one out yet I highly recommend it!
